About the Ministry
Several years ago God began tugging on our hearts, as a family, to know Him more and get rid of anything that might be in the way of allowing Him into every part of our lives. This began a process of repenting of limiting God and thinking we knew just how He worked and allowing Him to teach us Who He really is, how much He loves us, and how much He wants us to be involved in what He is doing.
He gave us three scriptures that together make up Can't Touch Bottom:
Isaiah 43:18-21 talks of not looking to God to only do what He has done in the past. He does not want us to have Him all figured out so we don't need to depend on Him. He wants us to keep looking for where He is working and then join in with Him. He also wants us to heal from things in the past but not to dwell on them or we will miss what He is doing next!
Ezekiel 47:1-12 talks about Ezekiel's vision of the river coming out from the temple and how he was led in deeper and deeper until he could not touch the bottom and therefore was not in control. God wants us to flow in His river of the Holy Spirit without trying to hold on to anything and without trying to secure ourselves on the bottom. Then there will be many fish and fruit because "where the river flows everything will live..." and "their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing."
John 15:16-17 is Jesus talking about choosing us to "go and bear fruit" and not only fruit but "fruit that will last." He wants us to go with what He has given us and to spread His gospel wherever He leads. Then He promises the Father will give us whatever we ask in His name, whatever is on His heart. He reminds us to do this in love.
These three scriptures, together, sum up what is on our hearts for the ministry God has given us. We need to look for where God is working now and join Him, we need to get deep in His Holy Spirit river, flowing with Him where He leads and the fruit will follow, and we need to go where He leads and bear fruit that will last. We can't forget to do all of these things in love.
